MENTOR Breast Reconstruction

Should I have my breasts reconstructed?

Breast reconstruction rebuilds breast shape and feel after a mastectomy. Thousands of women choose reconstruction after breast cancer, but the decision for each woman is uniquely personal.

Some choose reconstruction for practical reasons like a better clothing fit or an aversion to breast prostheses. While for others, the choice for breast reconstruction is centered around confidence, sexuality and body image. At MENTOR®, we understand your journey is uniquely personal and want you to feel confident along the way with tools to help you in the decision-making process.

What are my options?

Breast reconstruction often involves more than one procedure performed in stages, and it can either begin at the time of mastectomy or be delayed until a later date. There are a number of factors that can determine the timing and optimal method of breast reconstruction including the type of your mastectomy, other oncologic treatments that you will need, and your body type.
